Sulieman Benn prepares for equine gymnasticsOne of the commentators during the last Test – we forget who – said that Sulieman Benn had a good bowling action.

Now we can only presume that he meant it was solid and reliable or maybe ‘funny’.

Because it isn’t a good bowling action. He looks like a horse doing a cartwheel.

With this miniature hat you are spoiling me“All right Mrs Benn. Is your Sulieman playing out today?”

That passes muster. Well done that man’s parents. We’ll go so far as to say it’s a magnificent name. See what we’ve done there?

6ft7in left-arm spinners don’t grow on trees. They ARE trees. It would be good if the TV cameras were a bit higher up when Sulieman Benn bowls, because he has a tendency to obscure the batsman with his gangling cack-handed follow-through.

At the time of publishing, Sulieman Benn had taken 1-29 off 22 overs on the first day of a Test. That’s some stingy bowling from the enormo-spinner.
