Still not sure why we did that

We did our live review of International Cricket 2010 on Twitter. Ceci Masters kindly documented the review/mental breakdown in full and it can be seen here.

If you want to keep tabs on our ongoing descent, you can follow us @TheKingsTweets. We probably won’t be doing another live review of International Cricket 2010 though, we’ll say that much.

DON'T BE LIKE GATT!

Mike Gatting wasn't receiving the King Cricket email when he dropped that ludicrously easy chance against India in 1993.

Coincidence?

Why risk it when it's so easy to sign up?

  1. Oh come on, we (who witnessed the breakdown, live, on twitter) rather enjoyed it, I think. Next time you ought to win though…. practice until Hitting sixes off Bollinjam is as easy as renaming the entire Aussie cricket team!

  2. I’d put this on your “Serious Point” post from a few days ago, but no-one goes “down there”, as it were. This is a website of the moment, for people with limited attention spa…

Oh yes. From Cricinfo’s commentary on the Trent Bridge test:

“What a magnificent breathless morning that was. Wickets galore! Just the way it should be, none of that rubbish we’re seeing in Sri Lanka. England had a dreadful morning, but under these leaden skies and with the ball hooping, their 354 looks worth a lot more”

You are not alone, it seems. And I like the implication, that despite losing 6 for 23 this morning, England’s total actually went up by a huge amount. I agree completely. England’s 354 is a much bigger score than it would have been had they made 420.

  3. The five runs Morgan added today put more on his score than the 125 he scored yesterday.

  4. Hayley seems to be getting desperate. There was a time when I thought that she might have actually seen our posts, but clearly she is just toying with our egos in a way that only a female-themed computer programme could. Either that or Gordon Seagull is a popular figure on the Australian summer party scene, and her comment was completely relevant and well thought out.

  5. But you didn’t test the game out to its fullest of abiltiies. What happens if you play as Pakistan?! Does your apparently long term captain get fired out of the for match fixing? Does your best fast bowler have relationships with questionable partners? Do you have to pick you batsmen based on family feuds their mothers started? Do you sometimes lose a match when you need roughly 10 runs with 8 wickets left, or chase down 400+ with a wicket left?

What happens if you’re Pakistani? This game is ENTIRELY unrealistic!

  6. Actually, the Pakistan test was the day previously and we can actually answer many of those questions.

Yes, you can lose a match needing 10 runs with eight wickets left. At least we presume you can, because you can lose a match by 140 runs after needing 150 with eight wickets left.

There are match fixing allegations. During our review, Kamran Admaal GUIDED the ball to third slip before whoever the hell it was who came in next ran themselves out with a second run that was never there.
