Hales and Roy

Completely missed this. Personally, we blame those who call for and schedule public decisions on matters of national importance for distracting us from the chance to witness a spectacular England run-chase.

Except where the opposition for some reason fold, 10 wicket England one-day victories come around, what, once every thousand years?

It’s almost like England are a proper one-day side these days. Odd how quickly things can change.

Oh and England have won the Super Series, no?

Super.

DON'T BE LIKE GATT!

Mike Gatting wasn't receiving the King Cricket email when he dropped that ludicrously easy chance against India in 1993.

Coincidence?

Why risk it when it's so easy to sign up?

  1. I’m sorry.

Did something of monumental national importance happen while I was preparing for and watching yesterday’s ODI? Is it recommended that I check the news or something?

    1. You missed Kingxit. Bert, with unbridled enthusiasm, has voted Leave. It remains to be seen if foreigners can comment here.

      1. I can’t speak for KC of course, but personally I totally approve of foreigners coming to this site, working hard writing comments, generating revenue for the site etc. etc., I just think it is totally wrong if foreigners come here and get benefit from the site. It’s a small site and there simply isn’t enough pleasure from this web site to go around. I don’t know anyone who disagrees with me about this, but if you were to disagree, that would make you a traitor.

In short, of course you can comment here Deep Cower.

      2. Ged, what’s your opinion of foreign commentors coming here and making 23 of the finest posts anyone on this site has read in the modern era before being forced out for occasionally liking to look out of the nearest window?

      3. Hmm, Alec.

I’m not at all sure about this “looking out of the window” business. It sounds to me as though these foreigners might be thinking. This kingdom didn’t get where it is today by dint of thinking.

Just reading, typing and posting; no window-gazing or thinking. That’s the way to make the kingdom great again.

  2. Am I still allowed to post here if I become American?
    (does one truly become American?)

What if I keep my UK passport (the worthless piece of junk it now is)

    1. As I understand it, KC plans to implement an Australian-style points system, to ensure that there is an absolutely fair and level playing field for Johnny Foreigner.

Some might say that it is hard to imagine American citizens being able to achieve enough points, but you never know. Indeed I would say there is still a very good chance.

This conversation reminds me a little of the ending to the “One Leg Too Few” sketch by Peter Cook and Dudley Moore:

However, if the USA votes in Trump, then I think KC will need to suspend comments by US citizens, “until the kingdom’s representatives can figure out what is going on.” KC might even need to erect a wall.

    2. I have just learnt a bit more about the Australian-style points system. Apparently it includes points for language skills – vital for integration etc. etc.

I have done a preliminary assessment of those who write on this site and consider the following list to be those with the requisite number of language skills points:

      Ged Ladd
      Ivan Meagreheart the Smart Phone
      Dumbo the Suzuki Jimny
      Hippity the Green Bunny
      Bananarama Monkey-Face
      Benjy the Baritone Ukulele
      Daisy Moppett

The rest of you have plenty of work to do on those language skills, frankly.

      1. I don’t think it is possible for you to leave, Rus.

Perhaps KC should have thought about leavers as well as arrivers before he built that wall of his. It’s the sort of mistake anyone could make. 😉
