Matthew Hayden and the Mongoose – together at last

Considering that Matthew Hayden and the Mongoose cricket bat are two of our favourite things to talk about on this site, you’d think we’d have more to say about this:

A dynamic forward defensive shot

The heading on the press release says:

Matthew Hayden and Andrew Symonds to ‘let loose the Goose’

We should DEFINITELY have something to say about that…

DON'T BE LIKE GATT!

Mike Gatting wasn't receiving the King Cricket email when he dropped that ludicrously easy chance against India in 1993.

Coincidence?

Why risk it when it's so easy to sign up?

  1. “The Mongoose has the potential to revolutionise cricket. Without changing your technique, the bat allows you to hit the ball harder and further. Its power is phenomenal and without a doubt, I am looking forward to playing many successful games with it” Hayden said in Chennai.

Oh, I very much doubt he said that.

  2. I saw a few glimpses of him yesterday in a live IPL match while flicking through the channels but he wasn’t using the mongoose…

  3. The way he’s going at the moment, it’s more of an albatross than a mongoose.

I can’t believe I picked the Super Kings in my office sweepstake, they’re absolute toss.

  4. SLASH, amazingly awesome? It’s just Hayden who is toss?

This Twenty20 thing is so confusing. At least with test cricket you can mostly tell who is terrible in advance, so you don’t have to pay too much attention to what actually happens.
