Warwickshire and their West Indian batsman

Warwickshire are well poised in the County Championship and as so often with that competition, you can’t really work out how they got there.

They sort of bumbled along there or thereabouts for most of the season and then they SIGNED SHIVNARINE CHANDERPAUL. That’s how it happened. Yes, other people scored runs and took wickets for the majority of the season, but if Lancashire fail to win the County Championship, we’re choosing to see it as 100 per cent down to Shivnarine Chanderpaul. Even if Durham win.

Shiv started with a one and then a duck against Hampshire, but he got his eye in with that run. Against Yorkshire, he hit 193 and then in a separate fixture against the same opposition, he’s just made 110.

This isn’t the first time that Warwickshire have done well out of a West Indian batsman.

DON'T BE LIKE GATT!

Mike Gatting wasn't receiving the King Cricket email when he dropped that ludicrously easy chance against India in 1993.

Coincidence?

Why risk it when it's so easy to sign up?
