Did anything happen today?

Sri Lanka looked set for a large lead yesterday and Mahela Jayawardene had scored a hundred. At the close of play today Sri Lanka had a large lead and Mahela Jayawardene had scored a hundred. Very little else appears to have happened.

So what shall we all do? A Test match is underway, so the site’s sort of ‘on’. Things should be happening. But what?

Sri Lanka v England, second Test at Columbo – day four
England 351 all out (Michael Vaughan 87, Alastair Cook 81, Matt Prior 79, Muttiah Muralitharan 5-116, Lasith Malinga 3-78)
Sri Lanka 548-9 declared (Mahela Jayawardene 195, Michael Vandort 138, Prasanna Jayawardene 79, Ryan Sidebottom 3-100, Steve Harmison 3-111)
England 48-0

Prasanna Jawardena showed that not only is he probably the best wicket keeper in world cricket at the moment, he’s not bad with the bat either!

Even Dilhara Fernando seems to think he’s a proper batsman now. He’ll be thinking he’s a proper bowler next.

Dilhara Fernando was quite annoying today if you’re an England supporter. Maybe that was today’s ‘thing’.

    Can’t be bothered now though.

Is it too early to say that Steve Harmison is on his way Back? I was a doubter about his inclusion for this Test but I’ve been quite impressed.

You should never say that, MIriam. Just keep quiet.

It might all be okay of no-one remarks on it. No-one look. Act like you’re busy doing something else.

Who is this young buck Harmison you mention.. I seem to remember a boy with a similar name, who years back, used to scare the big boys with his bowling..

I’d assumed he was dead. Does he have a son that plays?

Must be Ben Harmison. You know – the brother of that guy who was the best bowler in the world and that other guy who bowled all those wides and looked miserable.

It can’t be him. he’s a batsman, and he’s useless.. This fellow playing for England, looked half decent..

    Must be a cousin..

he could be “One to watch”
