Shoaib Akhtar is a ‘what’

Shoaib Akhtar - a hunk o' burnin' lovePakistan captain, Shoaib Malik, is fed up with waddly, disinterested purveyor of two-over spells, Shoaib Akhtar. “Everyone can see what is out there,” he said about everyone’s favourite one-time fast bowler.

Rumour has it that Malik has asked the selectors to replace Akhtar with a patch of slightly longer grass at fine leg in order to improve Pakistan’s performance in the field.

DON'T BE LIKE GATT!

Mike Gatting wasn't receiving the King Cricket email when he dropped that ludicrously easy chance against India in 1993.

Coincidence?

Why risk it when it's so easy to sign up?

  1. Push start or not if the selectors back him for the next few months I have no doubt he will be able to come back in some form. In his defence he has been out of the game for a long time and given his age it will take some work to get back to his best.

Shoaib has that ‘killer’ instinct in common with players like Harbhajan and Warney. While this leads to him looking like a tool on a regular basis the game would be much poorer without him.

  2. Disinterested two-over spells?! How can he bowl “objectively”?

If he was bowling “uninterested” two-over spells, i’d understand. So please explain KC, i think i am missing something here …

  3. Always with the disinterested/uninterested distinctions.

We are disconcerned with the difference (although not disconcerned enough that we didn’t vindicate ourself via a dictionary just now).
